About This Novel
In Yongding County, fifty miles southwest of Longyan City, the capital of western Fujian, there is a county seat called Shenxiandu. Shenxiandu is a transportation hub in the upper reaches of the Yongding River and a commodity distribution center during the water transportation period. This is the last ferry on the upper reaches of the Yongding River. All parallel imports must be disembarked here and distributed through the Shenxian Ferry, so the ferry evolved into a polder. Near the top of Shenxiandu, there is a village named Tian Duan, all of whom have the surname Liao. Regarding the Shenxian Ferry, the Genealogy of the Liao Family in Tianduan recorded this: "The Shenxian Ferry is unpredictable and deep, and the water is sluggish... In the past, when the Shenxian Ferry opened for business, many boats docked here. After the night was quiet, the lights on both sides of the bank were reflected, like thousands of sparse stars." Since the Shenxian Ferry, there has been the Shenxian Ferry polder here. The ferry and the polder are combined into one, both called Shenxian Ferry.
