Flying Little Rooster
About This Novel
The old man Turdi's home is in a small mountain village at the southern foot of Beita Mountain. The old man has a grandson named Yashengjiang. Yashengjiang raised a little rooster, and his grandfather called it Little Yashengjiang. The protagonist in our story is this little rooster, whose grandfather calls him Little Yashengjiang and Yashengjiang calls him Kalakuluk (Uyghur, black tail). This is a unique little rooster. It has a beautiful appearance: a red fan-shaped comb, bright ruby eyes, colorful feathers like a pheasant, slender golden legs and feet, and an elegant Karakuluk like a colorful flag. Moreover, it can spread its wings and fly high like a wild pigeon. Things have to start from a year ago. One warm noon in spring, old man Turdi was cleaning the stable as usual. He found an egg in the manger and put it into the wild pigeon's nest on the wooden shelf above his head.
