About This Novel
"Warning Words", a collection of short stories in vernacular. Compiled by Feng Menglong in the late Ming Dynasty. It was completed in 1624 (the fourth year since tomorrow). The themes come from folklore, historical biographies and novels. The era described in the story includes the Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties. "Tongyan to Warn the World", together with "Mingyan to Awaken the World" completed earlier by the author, and "Everlasting Words to Awaken the World" completed later, are collectively known as "Three Words", which is one of the famous vernacular short story collections in ancient China. It is also usually called "Three Words and Two Pai" together with Ling Shuchu's "Second Pai", namely "Surprise at the First Moment" and "Surprise at the Second Moment".
