Not evenly matched; plot direction
You may be disappointed, but the battle between the protagonist group and Monster Academy will end with an absolute crushing. There is no equal match. The protagonist's team strengthens in all directions, and then wins it with a flat push. As for the purpose, it is to cast a shadow on Shrek and give a mental blow, which can be regarded as highlighting the prestige of the protagonist group.
