About This Novel
"The Master of Petersburg" is a novel by the South African novelist and Nobel Prize winner J. M. Coetzee, with the great Russian writer Dostoyevsky as the protagonist. In the novel, in October 1869, due to the death of his stepson Pavel, Dostoevsky came to the city of Petersburg, where he met a series of characters and intertwined with their fates. All these experiences were transformed into elements in his writing through suffering and suffering, becoming the opportunity and nourishment for him to write "The Demons". By reshaping Dostoevsky's life story and interpreting it in an indistinguishable way, Coetzee shows readers the unfathomable imaginary world in his study.
