Quiet Wilderness
by Anna
About This Novel
It was late at night in early winter. A crisp baby cry came from an old yurt (Mongolian yurt) to the west of Bayannuoer Village. The baby's cry gradually subsided under the comfort of a hoarse, low and rough voice. Inside the bag, there is a horseshoe lamp hanging on the wall of the bag. The lamp is small and gives off a dim light. A man of about 60 years old held a baby in his arms. This is a baby girl less than 3 months old, wrapped in a baby cover sewn with sheepskin. She sucked the pacifier greedily, occasionally choking, and milk overflowed from the corner of her mouth. When she was full, she pushed the pacifier out.
