Tessa Jacobson, an aspiring writer in a small Southern town, has recently been heartbroken: her boyfriend dumped her and took his band and a beautiful female singer to Nashville. One weekend three weeks later, while waiting for a table at a restaurant, Tessa met Hollywood star Nate Wilder and was immediately attracted to him. Although still in the heartbreak stage, Tessa feels a spark of love and the two begin secretly dating. Tessa falls in love with Nate, and everything seems perfect until a miscommunication causes her to suddenly break up. Some time later, Tessa's ex-boyfriend came back and asked Tessa to go to Nashville with him so they could get back together.
