The author of "Visiting the Snow in Flower Mountain" is Awako Tsumabuki, whose real name is Masao Aukawa. Born in Tokyo on May 9, 1933. After graduating from Kudan High School, he worked at home as a "Heraldry Painter" (Heraldry Painter is the person who paints the family crest on high-end kimonos). He was also an amateur magician. Before entering the literary world, he won the Ishida Tenkai Prize for his magic creation in 1968, and published "The Square Bag". In 1975, he won the first Phantom City Newcomer Novel Award for Outstanding Works with "The DL2 Unit Incident". In 1977, he was shortlisted for the Japan Mystery Writers Association Award for both novels and short stories with his first novel "11 Poker Cards" and his short story "The Crooked Room". The following year, he won the 31st Japan Mystery Writers Association Award for his second novel "The Plot of Provoking Chaos", establishing his status as a writer. In 1982, he won the 9th Kadokawa Novel Award for "Comedy, Tragedy".
