About This Novel

In 1847, the American naturalist writer Thoreau moved to the secondary forest on the shores of the beautiful Walden Pond, not far from his hometown of Concord, and tried to live a simple reclusive life. He built his own wooden house, cultivated land, wrote and read books, and roamed and explored in the forest! He used this two-year experiment to prove to the world that beauty and satisfaction often come from simplicity. If people are not bound by desires, people are fully capable of living the life they want!
