About This Novel
I drove the car and passed the Yemao Mountain Pass. When the car reached the commanding heights of a corner, a beam of light shone, and the Qijiadian Reservoir appeared in front of our eyes like a piece of blue cloth suddenly shaken open. I slowed down, but didn't stop completely. I pressed down the car window and saw the tower of the Great Buddha Temple beside the reservoir. In the morning light, it shone with a clear tranquility, which made my heart skip a beat, as if a long-closed attic window had been opened. A few pigeons or swallows are lingering in the dim light, and it feels like they are flying from my heart - today is April 4th, the day of the Great Buddha Temple. Vaguely, in the distance on the road, many vehicles were already surging towards the Great Buddha Temple. I pulled the car to the side of the road and saw a large truck passing by in the rearview mirror. It was not an impulse, but a sudden and solemn pilgrimage in my heart. I turned the car around, got off the national highway, took a shortcut along the edge of the reservoir to the Great Buddha Temple.
