About This Novel
This novel is adapted from a true story during the Republic of China. A poor man who lived in a small village not far from the Wishui River had four sons. In order to survive, he had to give one of them out to be his son-in-law in exchange for the survival of the other children. The child who was given away was appreciated by the rich man and gave him books to read. In the process of studying, I met a group of like-minded classmates. Get to know a close friend, study together, and write together, but have to be separated because of commitment and family dignity.
