About This Novel

Zhou Xu and Zhou Chen are twin brothers. Their family is poor and they live in a slum with their four parents. They have the same identity. Zhou Chen went to school with Zhou Xu's household registration. Zhou Xu helped with housework at home. When he got older, he went to a warehouse to help move things and earn some money for the family. However, Zhou Xu, who loved learning, did not give up. Every weekend, Zhou Xu would take Zhou Chen's books to read, and sometimes he would dig out some old books from the warehouse. In junior high school, Zhou Chen hated going to school, so he asked Zhou Xu to take his place, and the two of them began to take turns going to school. In high school, on the day of the college entrance examination, Zhou Chen had a fever, so Zhou Xu took the exam for him. After the college entrance examination, Zhou Chen received the admission notice from a key high school, but because of his perfect score in essay, he was admitted exceptionally. A few days after receiving the notice, their father died in a car accident while driving drunk, and their mother died in an accident while thinking she was working.
