Thousands of Passersby
by Zhu Yumu
About This Novel
She has never forgotten the person she liked when she was a girl. When they were together day and night, she often dreamed of him. After they separated, she still often dreamed of him. In the dream, she kept getting older and her face kept changing, but that boy was always nineteen years old, always sunny, and never changed. However, she kept thinking about him, but he didn't respond. At least, she always thought so. She always felt that she was just a passerby. As a storyteller, I think that there may be other hidden "voices" in this story, just like there are a thousand Hamlets for a thousand readers. Some people may think that the long-lasting unrequited love is just a misunderstanding in childhood; but some may also think that not all feelings must be settled in marriage, and living in another person's dream is also worth cherishing; or some may start to think, how should we treat those feelings that cannot be finally married? Is it laissez-faire or restraint? To hide or to tell? To forget or to remember? ... More possibilities require storytellers and storyreaders to work together to complete it.
