The main part of this book selects several important connection points between Duanmu's novel creation and Chinese literary tradition to carry out specific investigation and analysis. First of all, we focus on the spiritual connection between the two, and explore the connection between the strong sense of worry, earth feelings, patriotic character and the patriotism tradition of Chinese literature in Duanmu's novels; then we examine the connection between the novel as a unique narrative art and the literary tradition of Chinese historical biography, and its innovation in narrative mode; then we explore the connection between the blend of "emotion" and "ambition", the lyrical imagery of Duanmu's novels, and the lyrical tradition of Chinese literature. On the basis of macro comparison, Duanmu novels are selected for counterpoint comparison with some classic texts in the two major literary traditions of ancient and modern China, and the characteristics of the connection between the two are discussed in detail.
