He collaborated with Argentinian writer María Esther Vazquez to introduce Germanic medieval literature to readers, and compiled three types of literature from the same root system into a precious work. Borges believes that Germany can be regarded as a collection of multiple tribes with relatively close customs, languages, traditions, and myths and legends, and its geographical significance is far less than its national significance. Borges had a unique love for ancient Germanic literature. He recounted the epics, poems, and legendary stories that were almost hidden in the pile of old papers in vivid and interesting language. It was like a precious literary lesson taught by a literary giant, leading us closer to this mysterious territory in the history of literature.
