About This Novel

Starting from the perspective of narrative poetry in the early Qing Dynasty, this book conducts a detailed combing and interpretation of the social history during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It discusses and researches the political, economic, cultural and other aspects of the Chongzhen regime, Shunzhi regime, and Nanming regime respectively. It also supplements the historical poetry materials of controversial historical figures in later generations, aiming to use poetry to prove history and to supplement history with poetry. At the same time, this book puts the early Qing narrative poems and their authors into the context of the Ming and Qing dynasties for analysis and commentary. Finally, it discusses the similarities and differences in ideological content and artistic expression between narrative poetry in the early Qing Dynasty and narrative poetry in previous generations, and puts forward the view that narrative poetry in the early Qing Dynasty is the peak of narrative poetry among Chinese literati.
