About This Novel

Based on the macroscopic vision of the history of contemporary Chinese literature, this paper systematically sorts out the development and evolution of Western prose since the 1940s, pointing out that "cultural imagination," "Western spirit" and "awareness of family and country" constitute the inner spiritual structure of Western prose. This spiritual structure not only enables Western prose to show different characteristics and atmosphere in the Chinese contemporary literary landscape, but also continuously stirs up moving charisma in its dialogue with the spirit of the times. As the final result of the National Social Science Fund project, the book strives to summarize creative experiences of more universal significance through the study of contemporary Western Chinese prose, and the elucidation of "creative models" and "local imagination" is a concentrated expression of this goal. This book also takes the western prose creation of Zhou Tao and Ma Lihua as examples to analyze the cultural stance, personality spirit and aesthetic pursuit of western writers in order to gain an in-depth understanding of China's contemporary western prose.
