by Ren Hujun
About This Novel
This book is based on the current status and existing problems of research on American novels at home and abroad, using literary reception criticism and New Historicist literary criticism as theoretical references. By carefully reading American novel research papers published in important domestic academic journals since the early 20th century and American novel research treatises and related research academic papers and treatises published by important publishing houses, this book conducts an in-depth study of three different historical periods (1901-1978, 1979-1999, 2 000-2015) hot spots, angles, methods and overall trends in the study of American novels in China. From an overall perspective, it diachronically and systematically explores the historical evolution of the study of American novels in China from ideological criticism to non-ideological criticism and multi-literary and cultural criticism in the course of a century, as well as its cultural and literary effects. It summarizes the successful experiences and failures in the study of American novels in China over the past century, and looks forward to the future development trend of the study of American novels in China.
