The Evolution of Concepts and the Evolution of Literary Styles
by He Zhenbang
About This Novel
This book is the author's sixth collection of literary criticism dedicated to readers; in a sense, it is also a collection of literary criticism by the author. This selection of literary criticism can also be regarded as a summary and a small display of my literary criticism activities over the past half century. The forty-three articles included in this collection of reviews are half selected from five review collections published in the 1980s and 1990s, and the other half are selected from hundreds of literary reviews published since the 21st century. According to the review object and nature of the article, it is divided into four series: The first series is an essay on literary trends of thought or a review of a certain topic. Not much has been written in this area, and only seven articles have been collected for reference; the second series is about stylistic research and stylistic criticism; the third series is about reviews of novels; and the fourth series is about reportage, short stories, or reviews of the creative activities of young writers.
