About This Novel

This book uses the grammatical analysis and conceptual analysis methods of the philosophy of language to analyze ten (pairs) of literary theory categories in the literary theory of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and strives to clarify the confusion between their expression at the level of logic and grammar and the level of empirical facts. These categories can be divided into five groups: the first group is Tao and Emotion, which are categories at the "ontological" level; the second group is speech, meaning, form and spirit, and literary quality. These three pairs of categories describe the logical structure of literary works; the third group is Shensi and Bixing, These two pairs of categories relate to the psychological phenomena and creative methods of creation; the fourth group is implicit and explicit, which are categories related to the form or style of the work; the fifth group is Tongbian, which combines changes and invariances, universal and special issues in literature.
