"Records of Exploring Cao Yu" is a collection of articles related to the author Tian Benxiang's research on Cao Yu for many years. It is also a record of the exploration of Cao Yu and his plays. "Cao Yu's Exploration" is divided into seven parts, including papers related to Cao Yu's research, performance reviews of Cao Yu's plays, talking about Cao Yu with Tianjin readers, the opening speech of Cao Yu's academic conference, remembering Cao Yu, and a preface to Cao Yu's theory, to the creation of the play "As I Lay Dying" in memory of Cao Yu. The author elaborates on the three stages of Cao Yu's research, namely, Cao Yu's status in the history of Chinese drama, discussing his achievements in realist drama creation; poetic realism; in commemorating the centenary of Cao Yu's birth, summarizing Cao Yu's achievements as a "great humanistic artist", as well as commemorative articles.
