About This Novel

This book takes novels of the Tang Dynasty and operas with related themes in the Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research object. Based on literature review, it uses stylistics and cultural theories to analyze the different characteristics of the novels in the Tang Dynasty and the operas with the same themes in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in terms of ideological and cultural connotation and artistic style through comparative research. The relationship between novels and operas is a two-way interaction. Novels about gods, monsters, love and marriage, and heroes in the Tang Dynasty were presented in new artistic forms through the creations of Ming and Qing operas. This kind of presentation is not only the inheritance and development of the original themes of the legends and dramas of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, but also the artistic creation of the Ming and Qing opera dramatists to express their talents and express their feelings based on their storytelling skills.
