About This Novel

The sound issue of new Chinese poetry has been a hot topic in poetics since the 1980s. Sound initially refers to the musical attribute of poetry, but since music itself is not poetry, musicality cannot encompass the aesthetic characteristics of current new Chinese poetry. Therefore, it is more effective to adopt the word sound. In addition, there are differences between sounds, pointing to different aspects of the same problem. Sound in poetry mainly refers to the rules related to music, mainly written language, while sound focuses on the comprehensive effect produced through musical accompaniment or other oral methods. This book takes the new Chinese poetry since the 1980s as the research object, and studies the sound issues of new Chinese poetry from multiple dimensions. This book is divided into five chapters. It is based on a close reading of the texts of new Chinese poetry since the 1980s, and integrates research in literary history, cultural history, and linguistics. It not only displays the richness of sounds in new Chinese poetry since the 1980s, but also attempts to open up new research paths for the study of sounds in new Chinese poetry.
