Essay on Western Literature and Overseas Chinese Literature
by Gao Weiguang
About This Novel
This book mainly collects 27 papers that I have written over the past few decades since I started teaching in colleges and universities. Among them are already published papers, some papers that have been waiting for publication, and two papers that were revised during the research process. Although these papers were written over a period of several decades, they all revolved around the two major themes of Western literature and overseas literature, with the focus being on the study of Western literature. The study of literature from both sides mainly includes three articles on ancient literature from both sides, three articles on Enlightenment literature, five articles on Romantic literature, and seven articles on Modernist literature. It reflects the research direction that the author is concerned about. The four articles on comparative literature theory and translation reflect the author's academic vision and "China concern" in the process of studying Western literature, that is, the ultimate purpose of studying Western literature is to understand and understand one's own literary and cultural conditions. There are five articles on overseas Chinese literature, which mainly reflect the author's thinking on the relationship between Southeast Asian Chinese culture and Chinese traditional culture.
