About This Novel
The construction of literary theory is an urgent issue with great practical significance for the current Chinese literary and art circles. This book combines the two knowledge forms, the literary subjectivity theory proposed by Liu Zaifu in the mid-1980s and the intersubjective literary theory proposed by Yang Chunshi in recent years, into the same subject area as the research object, thereby intervening in the thinking of the construction of contemporary literature and art, and launching a direct discussion of the related basic literary theoretical issues arising therefrom. The author believes that neither the theory of subjectivity nor the theory of intersubjectivity is sufficient to answer all the questions in literary theory, nor can it provide a complete explanation of the nature of literature. The historical construction of human subjectivity should follow and conform to the highest goal of human freedom and comprehensive development; only from this teleological perspective can the construction of fluid, diverse and contemporary subjectivity be carried out more rationally.
