Virginia Woolf Studies in the English-speaking World
by Lu Xuerui
About This Novel
This book aims to re-examine the shortcomings and deficiencies in domestic Woolf research and change the stereotype of Woolf in the minds of domestic readers through a systematic review of Woolf research in the English-speaking world and a detailed interpretation of major issues related to the development of Woolf research. The first three chapters of the book unfold in diachronic order, using a comparison between China and the West to show the status and main concerns of Woolf research in the English-speaking world at different stages. The last two chapters focus on important issues in Woolf's research that have not received enough attention in the country. By sorting out the history of Woolf research in the English-speaking world, examining Woolf research from different critical perspectives, and comparing the similarities and differences between Woolf research in China and the English-speaking world, the author further explores the commonalities and differences between researchers in different civilization systems when they examine the same writer.
