About This Novel

The Tongcheng School was the prose school with the most writers, the widest geographical distribution, and the longest duration in the Qing Dynasty. Because its main writers were all from Tongcheng, it was called the Tongcheng School. In the form of a chronology, this book compiles and compares the characters, works, and deeds of the Tongcheng School and its branches Yanghu School and Xiangxiang School from the 10th year of Shunzhi (1635) to the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), and completely presents the history of the emergence, development, and decline of the reformed sect.
