About This Novel

In the 1930s and 1940s, more than 6 million Jews were brutally massacred by the Nazis in Europe. Almost all parts of the world closed their doors to Jewish refugees in urgent need of help. However, the Chinese people and the metropolis of Shanghai extended a helping hand to Jewish refugees at this critical moment. About 25,000 Jewish refugees who came to China regarded Shanghai as their "Noah's Ark". They shared the joys and sorrows with the Chinese people and spent difficult years on Chinese soil. Some even directly participated in the Chinese people's anti-fascist struggle and national liberation movement. This book is the final result of a major project funded by the National Social Science Fund. From the perspective of academic research, this history of Jewish refugees seeking refuge in China during World War II was sorted out and summarized.
