About This Novel
Influenced by Yu Qiuyu's historical and cultural prose, Chinese prose began to turn its attention to "history", and then discovered the connotation of culture from the "depths of history", which became the collective consciousness and unconsciousness of essayists. From one aspect, this is valuable; but from another aspect, it also brings about a problem, that is, the writer's ignorance, blindness or even numbness towards the times. In other words, history has become a great magnet that attracts essayists, thus leading to the writer's "absence" and "indifference" to the current era. In recent years, especially in 2009, Chinese prose has gradually become alienated from "history" and turned its attention to reality, which has become particularly penetrating to the times.
