About This Novel
It tells the story of the tortuous and bizarre life of Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty, Queen Liu E of Zhang Xianmingsu. She was born in a war-torn world, from assisting Zhenzong to listening to politics behind the curtain of Renzong. He was praised by historians as "having Lu Wu's talent but not his evil". In order to protect her family relationship with Renzong, she gave up calling herself emperor, proving to future generations that it was not that she could not be the queen, but that she could not.
