About This Novel
This is a historical novel reflecting the Xi'an Incident. It describes how the Chinese Communist Party used the anti-Japanese national united front policy as a magic weapon to win over the Kuomintang's Northeastern Army and the 17th Route Army headed by Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, launched the Xi'an Incident, used military remonstrance to force Chiang Kai-shek to end the civil war, and launched the sacred anti-Japanese national liberation war. The protagonists are Bai Shan, Hong Yan, etc., Young Northeastern people who are exiled in the customs. The novel vividly depicts their fighting process from the "December 9th" patriotic student movement to the storm of the Xi'an Incident. They have the suffering of life and death, but also the joy of meeting each other like a dream.
