This book tells the story of Li Deyang, a sunny boy from a middle-class family in Shantou, Lin Yu, a rebellious local Hakka boy from Shenzhen, and a group of girls from well-off backgrounds. The main plot of the story is real. Most of the characters' surnames have not been changed, but their names have been changed. The background areas relied on in the book are mainly Chaoshan and Shenzhen. Chaoshan is a region that has produced countless outstanding businessmen from ancient times to the present but is still economically poor; Shenzhen is the bridgehead of reform and opening up. Most of the local Hakkas have become rich and well-off, but Lin Yu's family in the book is an exception, which creates his weird character that is incompatible with the surrounding environment.
