Ming Chongyan Biography
by Jinyi
About This Novel
Wu Zetian in "The Legend of Ming Chongyan" has a special origin. She is a peerless beauty who was trained by Li Chunfeng, the heavenly master of the Tang Dynasty, using the immortal bones of the four great beauties. In order to become the first empress of all time, she used all kinds of tricks and used her junior brother Ming Chongyan many times. Ming Chongyan had an admiration for his senior sister, so he followed her around and allowed her to drive her. The story begins with Empress Wu appointing Ming Chongyan to serve as the county magistrate in Huang'an County. After Ming Chongyan became the county magistrate, he used his powerful magic and intelligence to repeatedly solve strange cases and became famous among the people. However, these strange cases all involve the manipulation of power among the big figures in the palace. The articles are developed in the form of a unit drama, and each article is a relatively independent story of detective intrigue. Unlike conventional novels about ghosts and monsters, which mostly include foxes, fairies, and monsters, the "monsters" in "Legends of Ming Chongyan" are mostly based on rarer legends with new ideas, such as the flying-headed man in "Natural History" and the cat in "Book of Sui: Biography of the Concubine". Ghosts, the minions in "Sequel to the Silence", the insinuating monsters in "Sou Shen Ji", etc... At the same time, the story also incorporates many interesting historical allusions, such as Wu Daozi secretly learned painting skills, He Zhizhang wrote poems drunkenly, Song Zhiwen stole poems and killed people, etc. In addition, Ming Chongyan's two partners - the thief-catching captain Wu Jiu who is good at slingshots, and the young Taoist priest Sima Chengzhen also add a lot to the story. As the plot develops, Ming Chongyan walks towards the court step by step and gets deeply involved in the vortex of power struggle. When he saw clearly what his senior sister was doing and her ambitions, he gradually became no longer willing to serve her. In the end, in a power struggle, he followed the trend and walked away to avoid it.

Willow was mentioned at the beginning, which made me think of farewell. Farewell to hometown is often the saddest thing. Every time I leave home to go to school, I feel a little bit reluctant to leave. The ancient saying is really true, a golden nest and a silver nest are not as good as your own doghouse
Relationships are really a complicated thing. Regardless of whether you are a boy or a girl, in the end you may do something you don't want to do because of your feelings. And since they clearly know something is not right, it is really difficult to recover at this time. For example, the male protagonist in the article was taken advantage of emotionally.
The characters in this novel should not be historical figures. The settings in it should be set by the author for the plot. Some of them should overlap with those in history, but they are not exactly the same.
After reading Ming Chongyan, I went to Baidu to look up this person. I found that this person really existed in the Tang Dynasty.
Ming Chongyan (646-679), whose real name was Mingjing and whose courtesy name was Chongyan, was from Yanshi, Luozhou (now Yanshi County, Henan Province). A minister during the Tang Dynasty, the son of Liang Guozi in the Southern Dynasty offered wine to the fifth grandson of Mingshan Bin, and posthumously presented it to the son of Ming Ke, the governor of Yuzhou. He has a handsome appearance and a magical grace. When he was young, he learned and became proficient in witchcraft, physiognomy and medicine. In the early years of Qianfeng's reign, he participated in the Fengchan Taishan activity, was awarded the title of Huang'an County Magistrate, and was awarded the Literature Award of King Ji (Li Dan). In the second year of Yifeng's reign, he moved to the official position to admonish the officials and worshiped him in the pavilion. He used the Shinto method to record the gains and losses of current affairs. He helped treat wind diseases during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty and was deeply loved by the emperor and empress. In the fourth year of Yifeng's reign (679), he was assassinated and was given the posthumous title of Zhuang.
The title is misleading, but this is actually a very interesting book
I thought it was a less interesting biography book, but it is not. It is a suspense-solving type of book that is somewhat similar to those where a monster proprietress listens to stories and solves cases in a shop. But this book is better than the other books of this type that I have read before, whether it is the writing style, the twists and turns of the plot, or its appeal to me. I think the reason why it is better than other novels of the same type is that the author is very knowledgeable, and allusions from various classics are implicitly included in the article, but it will not be incomprehensible. In short, I have read so many novels, and this one is very good!
