About This Novel
"From the Earth to the Moon" tells the story that after the American Civil War, Bobby Kane, the president of the Baltimore Cannon Club, proposed firing a cannonball to the moon in order to establish a connection between the earth and the moon. After French adventurer Michel Ardant learned of the news, he suggested building a hollow cannonball, and he was going to use this cannonball to explore the moon. Captains Bobby Kane, Michelle and Nicol overcame various difficulties and finally set off on this cannon, but they did not reach their destination... The plot of this book is thrilling and full of superhuman imagination. Verne's scientific assumptions in the book are actually very similar to the real experience of modern astronauts, which is shocking.
