Once upon a time, there were twin brothers and a sister. Ruth was blond, sweet-looking, and an out-and-out good girl. Max has black hair, gray eyes, and is unhappy all day long. He is recognized as a bad boy. Their neighbor and best friend, Hilda, wants to be friends with both siblings, but it's not easy. They hate each other, and Hilda finds herself becoming their peacemaker. Max found his sister's perfection unbelievable and annoying; Ruth couldn't stand her brother's arrogance and horrible behavior. Ruth was afraid of him. Ruth was too perfect, too naive to the real world, and Hilda felt something was wrong but couldn't quite put her finger on it. Is Ruth really the angel everyone recognizes?
