Tolstoy's best novella is probably basically here.
Worship! Several of them I have read recently have not been read again this time. I read "The Cossacks" twice in a row and it is one of my favorites. When I read "Quiet Don", it was my first exposure to the Cossacks. Here "Cossacks" describes a group of happy people. Although the Cossacks in the Don River were also brave and good at fighting, they didn't feel so happy, right?
