About This Novel
Around the 3rd century BC, there lived a man named Antipater in the Palestinian city of Sidon. He is the Baedeker of antiquities and the author of a travel guide. He may not have been the first person to try to point out sights to travelers that should not be missed, but this list of objects admired by the world may have come from him and was reproduced by other writers until it became authoritative. Antiparke had strict selection criteria and limited the number of wonders in the list to the sacred number seven, hence the term "Seven Wonders of the World".
