About This Novel
A family in the Severn Hills welcomed a new baby, but the joy of the newborn was quickly replaced by worry. The child was diagnosed with an abnormality during an examination. The doctor said that his body would slowly grow, he would cry and express his discomfort, but that was all, and he would always live in the state of a baby. His appearance disrupts the family's original life. Should they accept, resist, or give up? Everyone in the family is making their own choices... The narrators of the story are the stones in the yard. They witness the family watching each other, and they also witness every vulnerability, rebellion, transformation and growth of the children. After the novel was published, it quickly won the Femina Literary Prize, the Landeno Book Prize and the Goncourt Prize, and moved thousands of readers.
