About This Novel
Ding Qiuxiang and her son Ding Wujin were begging and wandering, and were taken in by Bai Dan, a single farmer in Tianbai Village, and married. The mother and son lived a difficult life in suffering and humiliation. While Bai Dan was tending the orchard, he accidentally set fire to the straw shed and died in a sea of fire. The Baidan people suspected Qiuxiang and her son of arson and murder, and reported them to the government. During the interrogation, Ding Wujin was severely beaten, which sowed hatred. He sought revenge and severely injured his enemy, and was imprisoned for it. On his way home from prison, Ding Wujin bravely rescued the kidnapped juice factory owner Zhang Zhiqing from the gangsters.
