About This Novel

Dionysius Stackopoulos broke with the traditional research model and gave a popular interpretation of the political, economic, cultural and other salient features of the Byzantine Empire in different historical stages. The first eight chapters introduce the political changes and territorial changes of the Byzantine Empire by describing the main events and characters in each period, and discuss the economic foundation and cultural creation of the empire. Chapter 9 tells the end after the fall of Constantinople in 1453 AD. The thousand-year history of the Byzantine Empire is full of twists and turns, but also has strong continuity. It has important reference value for both the past and the present.
