About This Novel
When Lucy Barton was picked up from her home by her ex-husband William and sent to a coastal town in Maine for isolation, she had not yet realized what a major crisis humanity was about to face. "It's as if the world has suddenly changed. I have to get through every day with no end in sight, and the end seems to never come, which makes me very uneasy." They live in a seaside hut, and the news reports the turmoil of the world. They talked about their daughters, New York, reunions, death, old loves and new friendships, and they couldn't even hug each other like family. Looking out the window, the sea is turbulent and unpredictable, just like the ups and downs of sadness in the body. Everything has changed. However, there is always something, just like always.
