About This Novel

The vast and tender water gathered from the small streams and rivers in the Greater Khingan Mountains to form a huge force. It has reached the plains in the rush, and suddenly made a big turn, making it much wider and quieter. At that big bend, fishermen, hunters, ginseng diggers, gold diggers, traders, woodcutter and cultivators gradually gathered, and the horse frame turned into an adobe house. Several natural villages came into being. Around 1900 AD, the roadbed of the China-Eastern Railway had crawled over like a python, connecting the villages of Wufuma, Yushutun, Angangxi, Gudian, Shuishiying, and Paotaitun. However, the railway had not yet been opened, and transportation between them still relied on traditional post and waterways. These many villages moved closer to one place from the periphery, where the adobe houses were transformed into blue brick houses, and the green brick city walls were repaired around them.
