About This Novel
"The Little Lord" is Mrs. Burnett's classic masterpiece. It has been best-selling for nearly a century and has been made into movies many times. It tells the story of a talented and beautiful little boy who goes through great changes in his life and becomes the heir to a title. Cedric Errol and his mother depended on each other after the death of his father. When he was seven years old, his life changed drastically: he originally had no right to inherit the title, but due to the death of two uncles, he became the heir to the title. His grandfather, Earl Dorincourt, sent someone to bring him to England to prepare him to inherit the title. When he arrived in England, Cedric won the love of almost everyone around him, including the housekeeper and the coachman, with his innocent and kind words and deeds. In contact with his lovely, kind and innocent grandson, the selfish, violent and snobbish old earl was also deeply affected. Not only did he fall in love with the young earl, he also accepted his mother.
