About This Novel

"The Moon and Sixpence" tells the story of Strickland, a successful securities broker who has both fame and fortune, a happy family, and a comfortable life that others envy. One day, when he was over 40 years old, he suddenly disappeared without a word after leaving a note. A young writer was commissioned to find Strickland, but unexpectedly discovered that this man, who had nothing to do with art, went to Paris alone because he was obsessed with painting. However, his colorful paintings were not recognized by the outside world, and he fell into the abyss of poverty and illness. "The Veil" tells the story of the young and beautiful Katie, who hurriedly agreed to the proposal of bacteriologist Walter in order to get rid of family pressure. However, this loveless marriage did not allow her to obtain the wealth and status she expected. After her husband went to Hong Kong, Katie fell in love with a married man and thought she had met true love. But after the affair was revealed, her lover immediately abandoned her for the sake of his reputation.
