I came in to read it after reading it translated by Xiao Qianwen Jieruo. Halfway through the book, I realized that most of the articles in this book were articles similar to Bible stories. Among Tolstoy's articles, I personally feel that the literary quality is relatively weak. There are only about three stories that are more realistic, the prisoner in the Caucasus, the story about two old men on pilgrimage, and the devil. These three articles still seem interesting. But Tolstoy's best short stories and short stories are not here. It is mentioned in the post-translation preface that this book is translated from English, so this should be discounted.
