About This Novel
Erin Tumuti grew up living with her Irish immigrant parents in an apartment in Woodside, Queens. The long-term difficult life made her want to completely get rid of this noisy and sad place to create everything of her own. When Irene grew up, she met a scientist named Ed Leary. She was obsessed with Ed's demeanor and she decided that this man was her perfect partner. They get married, but Erin soon discovers that her husband doesn't share her aspirations for the same ever-growing American dream. Erin encouraged her husband to pursue a better job, better friends, and a bigger house. But as time passed, she discovered that her husband's growing resistance actually had something else to hide. An inevitable darkness shrouded their lives. After learning the truth, Erin, her husband and their son Connell desperately tried to maintain the surface calm, and even wanted to seize the slim opportunity and their long-awaited future...
