Poirot's choice is thought-provoking, but it can only be like that. In order to save more people, even if the law cannot bring the murderer to justice, that is the highest level of crime. And Hercule Poirot, at the last moment of his life, upheld justice in his own way. Although I am reluctant to end the Poirot series, the ending of meeting a true opponent and defending justice with my life is indeed the best and most appropriate ending of the Poirot series. The Poirot series will always be a classic, and Agatha Christie is also a truly great writer of detective novels. I like grandma's works.
