About This Novel

It contains thirty-four essays written by Lu Xun from 1927 to 1929, with an appendix at the end of the "Bibliography of Lu Xun's Translations" written in 1932. In 1928, there was a debate between Creation Society, Sun Society and Lu Xun centered on the issue of revolutionary literature. Cheng Fangwu said that Mr. Lu Xun was "sitting under the canopy and copying old news about his novels" and that it was a "interest-centered literature and art."
