In 2012, Adichie was invited by TED to give a speech on feminism, which quickly became popular around the world. "We Should All Be Feminists" is a revised version of this speech. Are feminists unhappy people? A man hater? People who don't like wearing lip gloss and high heels? Starting from her own experience, Adichie corrected some of the stereotypes carried by the word "feminist"; she used a feminist perspective to cut into the life we are accustomed to and tell the common difficulties encountered by women; she borrowed a series of short stories she had personally experienced and witnessed in Nigeria and the United States to highlight the gender bias in the culture and inspire people to work together to build a more gender-equal future.
