About This Novel
"Moby-Dick" is a representative novel by the American novelist, essayist and poet Herman Melville. It tells the story of Captain Ehab of the whaling ship - he is determined to hunt down the ferocious and intelligent white whale Moby Dick who bit off one of his legs. After sailing almost all over the world, he finally encounters Moby Dick. After three days of hard tracking, he hit the beluga with a harpoon, but his ship was hit by the whale and was tangled in the whale rope and taken into the sea. In the end, he and the whole crew died together with the white whale, and only sailor Ishmael was saved. "Moby-Dick" has become a classic of world marine literature with its substantial ideological content, epic scale, and mature and thoughtful writing style.
